Keeping Up With The Jones: Our System of Credit

“There are, obviously, all kinds of ecological perils out there. We’ve overfished our seas, we’ve overcut our forests. Fresh water is beginning to run short, and species are disappearing at a rapid rate. You can come up with a long and troubling list, including the disturbing fact that most of the world’s people are so poor they can barely summon the energy to care about the larger world.” – State of the Planet 2006

We the people need to back up and rethink our priorities; be more rigid in complying with current laws for the environment and food safety…and,  set up new laws with more agents capable of rigid enforcement!

Example: The Clean Water Act adopted by Congress in 1972, set a very ambitions goal of having all of America’s waters fishable and swimmable; however, we are nowhere near that. We do not develop in a way that protects clean water.  It is a system that does not work; in other words we do not comply with the laws that congress passed; we do not have the human power to enforce these laws!

“The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the government since the days of Andrew Jackson. In politics nothing happens by accident; if it happens, you can be sure we planned it that way.”

-President Franklin Roosevelt

Setting up new laws to protect us seems futile! We are not running a tight ship! We continue to bite off our nose to spite our face! How stupid! Follow this link…within there are truths and steps each of us can do to change direction.
