Poetry

I hesitate to call my writings poetry; some seem like ramblings. I strive to convey the pure emotion and passion I feel for life. I started writing when I was in grade school.

My siblings were all much older and my mother always seemed to be working. I longed for someone to tell my most deeply felt secrets. So, I wrote. I can remember one of my sisters finding my ‘diary’ and giving me discouraging words about writing such things. I’m not sure what happened to the diary. And apparently my sisters discouraging words had an impact; I didn’t take up writing again until I left home.

The poetry and ramblings here are from my past 40 years. I’ve written my thoughts and feelings down on anything I could find; napkins, match covers, scrap paper. Some read like poetry; others read like rambling.
